El Ángulo Político has built two kinds of tests. The first shows where you stand on the political spectrum. The second is a quiz: you answer questions about the proposals of presidential or gubernatorial candidates and see how closely you agree with each one, as a percentage.

The Political Ideology test asks questions that place you in one area of the political spectrum. To do this, the spectrum is shown in two dimensions. One axis measures how much the government should be involved in socio-economic issues. The other measures whether you prefer to change things or keep them as they are.

The government axis runs in two directions. At one end is the left, which stands for more government. At the other end is the right, which stands for less government intervention. This intervention can be economic (for example, in the energy market) or social (for example, social programmes).

The other axis also runs in two directions. One is change, which we call progressive. The opposite of change is conservative.

These definitions give us a two-dimensional chart with four quadrants: Right-Progressive, Right-Conservative, Left-Progressive and Left-Conservative. The site’s logo is also based on these four directions of the political spectrum.

When you take the test, you’ll find out which quadrant of the political spectrum you’re in. At the end, your result appears on a chart that shows your position.
